Advanced Blogging

Well, as I am sure you can tell from the new 'prettiness', I am becoming more advanced in my blogging. I can now post pictures, and am able to edit my links. As soon as I can think of some to put in, I will... I have also set up a Miss Sixty email address, so you can get in touch with me, and you can also leave comments on my posts. Am now a much happier blogger :o)
How many entries can I call 'Christmas'?

I woke up this morning to find the teeniest tiniest sprinkling of snow on the ground. It then proceeded to snow quite a lot. Disappointingly it seems to have all disappeared now, although the local kids seem to have been able to find enough snow to make snowballs, I'm sure this has nothing to do with the disappearance of said snow from the surrounding areas ;)

So Christmas has been and gone, and I think it was a success. Christmas day itself passed pretty uneventfully. We had a lovely day, with lovely presents and no arguments. Adam helped me out by making the starter, a delicious prawn cocktail

which was followed by the traditional turkey etc and Christmas pudding.

Boxing Day was more eventful with an outing to the football, to see Leicester get robbed of 2 points yet again. We then went to visit Adam's mum, which was also pleasant. We visited Adam's dad on Saturday, again, pleasant.

And, on Sunday, my clan arrived. Of course, I had prepared far too much food and I am sure we will be eating it forever along with the leftover turkey. We had a lovely day and I think my other brother (as opposed to the one that lives here part-time) and his wife were impressed with our abode. Derek's son, James was as gorgeous as ever and remarkably well behaved.

So, with all family duties completed we have a week to ourselves. Yesterday we went shopping in the sales, which was disappointingly unexciting due to an unfortunate lack of money. Today, we have done nothing except walk to the post office and back in order to tax the car. It was bloody freezing! I am hoping to use the rest of the week to catch up on all the household admin that is still to be completed after 'the move', as well as revision for my final exam of my business studies degree. I also want to look for a new job, but more about that another time...

More Christmas

So Christmas is getting very close now and I THINK, we're prepared. The presents have been bought and wrapped and are sitting looking pretty under the tree. We even have some presents for ourselves - it appears Santa may have visited us a little early.

I have been absent for the last couple of days as I have been busy shopping and cleaning. Our food bill this week has come to almost £200. We budget for £50 a week, so this month has seen us slightly off target. I'm really hoping it's worth it. The family are coming on Sunday and they eat a lot. Also, Adam is ALWAYS hungry - honest.

The whole flat has been cleaned and the lounge re-arranged so that hopefully, my 11 month old nephew will have some space in which to run around. I quite like the new layout, but am not sure that it will stay past Sunday.

We seem to have wasted the entire day today. We visited a set of grandparents and that was it. I had a disaster cooking tea (I seem to get worse as I get older!) so am now panicking at the prospect of cooking Christmas dinner...

Anyway, must dash for tis nearing Hollyoaks time :o)

Blogging

I really need to learn how this blogging lark works. I want people to be able make comments, I want to add links and piccies and things. How do I do these things?

About Me

I suppose I had better tell you a little bit about me. I won't go into too much detail, I'm sure it will be more fun for you to find out about my life in small episodes as and when I feel that the information needs to be divulged.

I am 21 and flew the nest about 6 weeks ago. I now live in a 2 bedroomed flat with my boyfriend, Adam. My 27 year old brother, Derek has also moved in with us, part time. He lives in Northampton but has just got a new job in Derby. As we live just off junction 23 of the M1, we are conveniently located for his commute to work until they find a new house in Derbyshire for the rest of the family. So, Derek stays with us Monday night-Friday morning. So far this has been working very well, but it's only week 2!

Christmas

I am looking forward to Christmas this year (as I do every year). Adam and I have decided to spend Christmas day alone as there were too many sets of parents to try and please (his parents are divorced and re-married). This has the consequence of a very busy week. We will visit my parents and his mum on Christmas Eve, on Boxing we will go to the football and then to his mum's, on the Saturday we will visit his dad and then on the Sunday, I have foolishly invited my family to ours for lunch. This means that there will be 9 adults and an 11 month old baby in our 2 bedroomed flat ....

Silly Boots update

I am wearing my silly new boots again today, not with the forecasted silly little miniskirt, but a knee length skirt. I think this quite possibly looks ridiculous. I am sure that the boys were laughing at me this morning before we left for work...

Fashion Trends

I like fashion, I have always liked fashion, but this week I have discovered that I don't like new trends until they are on their way out.

For example, you know those silly slouchy mid-calf length suede type boots, well I hate them, well I DID. Especially when worn with silly little mini-skirts. Today however, I have bought a pair. I am wearing them now with my jeans. No doubt tomorrow I will be wearing them with a silly little mini-skirt. I will NEVER wear them outside of my jeans though, but then again this time last year I swore I would never wear a pair full stop, so who knows what could happen.

PS - they're actually very comfortable, can't believe I didn't discover this before. Plus, I think I'll be able to drive in them, which will save me fannying about changing my shoes when I get in the car. I can see my boring high-heeled knee highs being thrown to the back of the cupboard...
