I'm so rubbish. Not only can I not keep up to date with my blog, I can't even manage to take 1 photo a day for a month, never mind a whole year! Let's try a fresh start for February ...

Well we've had some pretty serious snow here this week. I don't think I've ever seen this much in the uk. Here in Bollingtin we've had about 8 inches. It hasn't actually snowed properly since Tuesday morning but it's so cold that conditions are terrible. In fact, it so bad that work are putting us under no pressure to go in, although there are offering an incentive of time and a half if we do go. Totally unheard of, but without that incentive there's no way I'd have gone in yesterday - I had to get up at 6am to dig the car out of the road and see if I thought I could make it safely to a main road. Driving through bollington itself wasn't good but once I got through most of the roads were fine. Driving back through Bollington to come home was awful. Lots of people haven't attempted to move their cars since monday and those that have, have abandoned them in silly places. It's not safe to leave them there when the weather is good so to leave them there in these conditions is asking for trouble! Still, I got sent home at 4pm so only worked 8 hours but got paid for 15. Brilliant :). We'll have to see what the weather's like in the morning, but we're bracing ourselves for temps of -20, which could lead to horrendous driving conditions tomorrow. So, another early morning for me while I assess whether or not to attempt the drive to work

Back to work tomorrow after a full 2 weeks off work. I've actually really missed it, especially the routine, but getting up at 6.30am is going to be a real killer for all of us. I am, however, looking forward to getting the house back in to shape - it's always such a mess when we're all at home.

Barring the stress of the car being broken, although thankfully nowhere near as broken as we feared, I've had a lovely fortnight off. Christmas was nice and cosy and the. We visited family for a couple of days. Got the car fixed, did some shopping (mainly window shopping) and just relaxed. Today I have been to a baby shower - one of my friends from work is due in 6 weeks - and it was lovely to have a nice girly afternoon. I have spent most of the weekend working on my NVQ and am so happy that I am finally making progress with it

And now, a nice soak in the bath before heading to bed for, hopefully, a good nights sleep. I have been a bit unsettled at work lately, but am lookingu forward to going back tomorrow to face new challenges and show what I can do :)
