I'm back after losing the internet connection for 6 weeks! Lots to tell, but for now I'll just leave you with this :)

I'm so incredibly proud of my hubby today. Four years of hard slog have finally paid off, and he is now official Dr Warrington. Wow! I'm even more proud today than the day he got his job. I actually burst into tears when I found out. So happy. I love that man.

Last week was quite a nice week at work, and I felt really bad to be leaving. This week is the week from hell and I'm so glad to be leaving!

Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry. I am a bad bad bad blogger! Hopefully, I'm now back, for the time being at least.

The house is coming along – the damp work is finally complete. The builder came and had a look around and thinks a loft conversion is a great idea, so we’ll probably be going with that in the New Year. We need to get up there and have a proper look around, but it’ll definitely be the master bedroom, and hopefully there’ll be room for an en suite shower room too. We had a brick pillar built in the living room this week to support the stair case as it was starting to sag. It looks really nice, but has taken quite a lot of space out of the room, which is a shame, but not unexpected. We’ve started to plan the layout of the room, and it’ll be lovely and cosy.

We need to get the floor leveled downstairs before we can lay the wooden floor, and decided last night that we’ll probably go for underfloor heating downstairs to free up a bit of space, so that’s the next job. We’re also in the process of arranging for someone to replace the floorboards upstairs, which will hopefully be within the next few weeks. Then it’s just a case of getting the carpets fitted and then we can move in! We’ll be giving all tradesmen a deadline of the middle of next month, meaning that we’ll have plenty of time to move in before the lease on the flat runs out on the 4th November. Then it’ll be time for Christmas!

I have a new job, which I start on the 8th October. I just wasn’t happy where I was – too many people just wander off all the time, and there’s not a lot of team work or communication, which was making things very awkward. I’ve never been able to see myself with the company long term anyway, as the it's just too big, with the focus on making money, not caring for the kids. My new job is working for a very small local chain – at the minute they have two nurseries and are opening a third in January, with plans for more in the future. I went for a look around before I applied and loved it. The facilities are amazing, and everything is very modern, and, more importantly, the focus seems to be on what’s best for the children. The uniform is much nicer too, which is a bonus! I applied, and went for my interview and got on very well. They understood all my problems with the current place and assured me that things are very different there. They will also support me fully with my training, and are keen to get me qualified quickly. I can really see myself progressing there.

I think that's all the news for now!

Well, after weeks of stress, we finally exchanged contracts on the new house at around 4.30pm today! We will complete the purchase tomorrow. I've just about finished sorting out all our stuff in to piles of what's going in to storage and what's not and I'll start shifting boxes up to our temporary residence tomorrow. Unfortunately the removals/storage is not yet sorted; they'll be coming round on Thursday to quote, so it'll be next week before they can do the job. Fortunately (?) I have Thurs/Fri off work next week as Adam is going into hospital for a minor op, so I can travel back and be here when the movers come. It just means I won't be there when he goes in to hospital, which is not what I wanted, but I should be back in time to go and visit him when he comes round after, which is the most important bit.

I'm looking forward to finally set foot in our new house tomorrow, and will probably start ripping carpets up and may even get a paint brush out! Then, I'll be back to Leicestershire on Thursday to be here for the removals quotey person. Back to Cheshire on Friday to be in for delivery of the new broadband router. Back to Leicestershire (well, Derbyshire actually) for a crop on Saturday. And finally back to Cheshire on Saturday night/Sunday morning ready to start my new job on Monday!

It's all go! I knew it'd all kick off at once. We found out on Friday that we'll complete on our new house on 8th August. Hopefully that gives me long enough to pack up and work out what goes in to storage and what stays with us. We won't be living in the house for the first month or so, y'see, as there's a bit of work to be done first.

We also sold the flat yesterday, which is good news

No net access til we're settled in the new house, so I guess I'll see you on the other side!

Whoops, I didn't realise how long it had been since I last posted!

This living apart lark is really beginning to take its toll now. The travelling too and from seems never ending (my poor car!) and the weekends seem so short. There is so much to organise with the new house, but nothing we can do until it is legally ours. Fortunately this is getting quite close now. At least, we think it is, the solicitors seem able to communicate only by post, which is getting pretty frustrating now.

I was putting off starting to pack until the flat had sold, but we have only had the one viewing so far, which is pretty disappointing. So I've given up waiting and made a start - there is loads of stuff to sort, and plenty to freecycle/eBay.

Well, I seem to have wasted most of my afternoon/evening messing about with Facebook so I should probably go and do something useful now!
